Green energy is generated from renewable resources such as water, wind and sunlight. As these are natural resources they will never run out and the energy produced from them causes less pollution.
Some energy providers specialise in providing all their energy from green sources whilst others have a mix.
Green energy tariffs tend to be more expensive than a standard tariff. However, many suppliers offer deals if you are a new customer. Alternatively you could switch to a tariff where part of the energy is sourced from renewables as these can be a bit cheaper.
